Who said tequila can’t also be tiki? We are pushing the envelope with this margarita-mai-tai hybrid, and are not mad about it. This cocktail is perfect for those looking to explore tiki flavours in unique ways.


Jigger (substitute with measuring spoons)

Cocktail shaker (substitute with a mason jar or protein shaker)

Muddler (substitute with pestle and mortar or wooden spoon)

Bar strainer (substitute with a mesh strainer)

Juicer (substitute with a fork)

Rocks or double old fashioned glass


2 oz Tequila

1⁄2 oz Falernum Syrup

1⁄2 oz Lime Juice

2 Droppers of Lime Leaf Bitters

4-5 Mint Leaves

Garnish: Mint Sprig and a piece of candied ginger


1. Combine tequila, falernum syrup, lime juice, and bitters into a shaker tin.

2. Gently muddle 4-5 mint leaves into the cocktail.

3. Add ice to shaker tin and shake for 15 seconds.

4. Strain into a Rocks or Double Old Fashioned glass over fresh ice.

5. Smack a mint sprig to release oils and gently run around the lip of the glassware.

6. Garnish with a piece candied ginger.
